Overview & Application of forged hook
The application of the hook in the large crane (crane) is crucial, it is directly responsible for carrying and lifting heavy objects of the key components. In order to ensure the safe and efficient completion of the lifting task, the design, manufacture, use and maintenance of the hook must follow strict standards and specifications.
Production process of forged hook
Forge:
After the material is heated to a plastic state, it is forged under a press or forging hammer, and the rough shape of the hook is formed through a die. Forging can improve the internal structure of metal and improve mechanical properties.
Heat treatment:
The forged hook needs to undergo heat treatment processes such as quenching and tempering to obtain the required balance of hardness and toughness to ensure that it is not easy to break when bearing heavy loads.
Roughing:
After the heat treatment, the hook is initially processed using a CNC machine to remove excess parts and prepare for subsequent finishing.
Non-destructive Testing (NDT) :
After the roughing is completed, a series of non-destructive testing will be carried out, such as magnetic particle detection, ultrasonic detection, etc., to check whether there are internal defects or surface cracks.
Finishing:
According to the design requirements, the use of precision machine tools to complete the final size and shape processing, to ensure that the hook parts meet the tolerance standards.
Surface treatment:
To prevent corrosion and increase aesthetics, hooks may be galvanized, painted, or other forms of surface protection.
