Production process of Herringbone gear  

Casting

First of all, the mold is designed and manufactured according to the design drawings to ensure that the final product can meet the required dimensional accuracy and shape requirements. For herringbone gears, sand casting or precision casting methods are usually used. After selecting suitable raw materials (such as cast iron, cast steel, etc.), these materials are melted and poured into pre-prepared molds. In order to ensure the quality of pouring, it is necessary to strictly control the melting temperature, pouring speed and cooling rate to avoid porosity, shrinkage and other defects. After the completion of pouring, the casting needs to be fully cooled before it can be released.

Rough Machining

There are often some irregular parts of the casting after stripping, such as flash, burr, etc., which need to be removed by preliminary mechanical processing. The roughing stage is mainly to remove excess material and make the basic shape of the gear close to the design size. This stage usually includes turning, milling and other processes, in order to quickly remove a large amount of metal, and to reserve the space and margin required for subsequent processing of the gear.

Finishing Machining

Heat treatment
